Blue Ridge Inn at Mt Macedon was up for sale several months ago. I'd love to hear what's happening with this marvellous B&B, and whether new operators have taken the reins. PR

Stanley Country Pub near Beechworth was apparently sold a couple of months back. Are new owners in residence? Has anyone stayed recently in their 2 luxury rooms, and eaten here? PR

Marwood, in the Grampians, was the first 5-star self-contained property in Victoria. After many years of enthusiastic ownership, Ian and Irene have placed their B&B near Halls Gap on the market. I'll miss you guys! PR

Marlo Hotel, at the mouth of the Snowy river near Orbost, was going on the market when I spoke to the lessees a couple of months back. Would love to hear what's going on there. They have 3 exc guest rooms. PR

Craig's Royal Hotel in Ballarat has been years in the renovation process. I last saw the guest rooms when they were just finished but the courtyard restaurant and new kitchens were still being built. Any news on this? PR

Emeu Inn at Heathcote is another great B&B and restaurant up for sale. Leslye and Fred have been there for years and watched the town grow its excellent (mainly shiraz) wineries to fruition. PR

Cygnet, Tasmania. Some friends I've made in the B&B industry are about to open a new B&B in this lovely little town, not too far from Hobart. Stand by for more news. PR

Valley Guest House  near Yarra Glen changed hands several months ago. It had been one of my favourites for many years - great hosts, reliably excellent rooms, gardens, and Ted was a master potter. The new owners have, according to my news source, "let things slide." Until I can revisit and meet the new owners to verify this bad news, I have removed the B&B from my recommended list. PR

Gipsy Point  I'm heading east to this marvellous place near Mallacoota with my daughter for part of the school holidays. Gipsy Point Lodge has long been a favourite of mine and hosts Libby and Ian are extremely welcoming. They do great dinners, the rooms are very good and the fishing is mostly fantastic - which is why so many people re-visit annually. We're also hoping to fly out to Gabo Island and see the keeper's cottages and climb the lighthouse. PR

Any special deals from properties? please contact me.
